CAP Job Club

A club to give help and support to the unemployed in your community, through an eight-week course,  and one-to-one coaching sessions.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) are a national charity, passionate about releasing people from poverty, debt, unemployment and addiction. Working with churches they bring good news, hope and freedom to people in the UK.

Our Job Club is run in conjunction with CAP and other local churches and we have an accredited CAP Job Club manager in our church. The Job Club is currently held at Prudhoe Methodist Church and involves an eight week course comprising weekly two-hour sessions on employability skills; giving people the tools, skills and confidence to return to work, with the emphasis on community time and individual support. After the course has finished members are offered on-going support by local churches and invited to social events. CAP Job Clubs are highly recommended by the Department for Work & Pensions and promoted through job centres.

We partnered with CAP in 2016 and have so far run 4 job clubs, with a number of partcipants subsequently finding work. For more information on the work that CAP does, click here to visit their website.
